Black Lives Movement's goal is to bring an open discussion around racism and diversity focusing on the younger generation through the educational systems to promote real change from an early age. We work directly in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area.

What we have been up to…

We want to keep everyone updated with BLM Peterborough’s activities and the places we have visited to discuss diversity & equality.

We have:

  • Presentations/ Open Discussions with teachers

  • Freshers Fayre Stand

  • Consultation Curriculum

  • Coaching Difficult Situations

  • Press Interviews- TV, Radio and Articles

We hope to continue offering tailored sessions but do suggest all Schools to have 3 specific workshops (please see workshops for more information).

Student Life

The student experience with BLMPeterborough gives character and core identity building exercises through our services. We offer Black students relatability and honest conversations about racial issues in the UK. While giving other minority groups support with communication. We also are here for White Students to understand how the world works and how they can support their peers and future peers through their words and actions. We cater to students' needs tailoring to their age and background; using techniques that involve solo critical thinking and group work.

Teacher Life

BLM Peterborough understands teachers are a huge part of a child's experience in school, they can build people up with tools, guidance and knowledge or break them down. Understanding how vital it is to acknowledge different races, religions and identities is really important for child development. Also supporting teachers from minority ethnic groups within the UK is important; we need more representation in the educational system. Seeing people like you in authority roles can really change ideologies and aspirations.
